IN A STYLE OF RARE EARLY NASRID ENAMELLED CIRCULAR BRASS BOX AND LID

DESCRIPTION:
The circular brass box is finely enamelled in bold tones of brass-Tatra Cobalt Blue and pistachio blue in the “KUFIC “ inscriptions round body all blues against the cobalt blue ground.
The upper surface cover depicts a single large stylised intertwined arabesques in pistachio blue and lotus bloom with serrated radiating petals borne on two stems growing further smaller lotus flowers decorating the periphery.
The vertical sides of the cover are similarly decorated with a band of lotus flowers borne on an undulating vine. The design is repeated on the side of the box.
