DESCRIPTION:
In the span of the Safavid era, metalwork was at its pinnacle time, such as this exquisite steel Axe head with an exclusive and intensely carved double-sided blade and handle encircled with a Quranic inscription.

On a blade with a carving layout encompassing a squatting deer glimpsing inwards towards the Qur’anic inscription with a rabbit glancing in reverse near the blade edge, the back handle engraved with an additional deer surrounding in with circular motifs and darting backwards.
