DESCRIPTION:
The pair of steel handles each cast in the form of a massive arabesque enclosed within a contoured band, openwork within the outside band comprising pairs of split-leaf arabesques, each pair placed along the central vertical axis combined to form closed vegetal bud-like palmettes, two of them pointing downward, a third one pointing upward, two further pairs, one on the right and one on the left of the central axis arranged as open palmettes, the final pair placed at the top of the vertical axis, the top part of each handle terminating in the shape of a ribbed drum, a copper alloy shaft running through the latter, securing the whole handle to a rod that would be eventually inserted into a door, domical metal protrusion at the back of the bottom tip of each handle serving as the actual knocker.
