DESCRIPTION:
The Timurid magic bowl,of deep rounded form,on the top of the cavetto circled engraved with small panels containing calligraphic inscriptions, the well with a central seven-petalled flowerhead surrounded by seven inscribed medallions, the reverse with a bold band of calligraphy over twelve pointed roundels depicting the signs of the zodiac on floral grounds, the interstices inscribed throughout. Footnotes: This item is in a fair overall condition, a crack in the cavetto,the bowl it’s rimless (probably early restoration).Darkening throughout. Rub marks to the reverse. As viewed.
